Our purpose
Work on our e-procurement software began in 2013, and the first version went into beta testing in January 2014. It was built to significantly improve the way organisations manage their procurement processes.
Operating costs have crippled many organisations in Africa while the cost of doing business and the level of corruption stayed high. We saw an opportunity to help organisations tame corruption and improve efficiency through automation.
Transparency in sourcing, and better visibility through smart data analysis, contribute in a huge way to curtailing corruption.
BidX is a light software package that lets businesses manage sourcing and communication with suppliers electronically. With our mandate for improving business efficiency through automation, we have continued to develop new solutions across the whole sphere.
Our story
During 2012 we identified many gaps in the way procurement was handled the world over, and a huge cry over limited data, leading to a lack of transparency and to inefficiency from the manual nature of procurement processes.
We then embarked on a journey to foster procurement excellence, and incorporated Bold Insight Ltd, later Bold Insight Tech Solutions Limited. Bits is one of the leading business technology firms in Kenya, focused on procurement technology, enterprise resource solutions and consultancy on best practice.
Though our bias is business solutions, the company has since grown with footprints in procurement and supply chain, procurement training and sensitisation, supply chain solutions and ecommerce. Our team is made up of accountants, procurement and supply chain professionals, and software engineers. We have expanded into African and Asian countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Pakistan and India.
